Traces of presence

I photograph places that draw me in with their silence and ambiguity. I pause before objects, fragments of architecture, and elements of space that endure, even as they gradually become part of another story.

It is often unclear what the history of these places is. One can try to sense it by looking closely at what has survived, and find the tension between what is still visible and what can now only be imagined.

“Traces of Presence” is an open-ended series. The photographs presented here mark its beginning, but do not close the story. The history continues.
